Where have all my students gone?

Logged into Connecting Steps or Evisense and can't see any students information?

It's that time of year again when all your students in  Connecting Steps/Evisense need their classes updating. The good news is that if you can't see your students, all their information is still there; nothing has been lost. All you need to do is put them in a class for this academic year. They will appear again as if nothing happened.

If you are an Administrator for Connecting Steps/Evisense, you can do this. If you are not, you will need to go to your Main System Administrator and ask them if they can update the classes for you.

Updating classes can be done in a variety of ways: 

  • Log into https://uk.bsquared.cloud. Go to Manage Students and import a .csv (Comma Separated Value) created from your MIS system. This must contain at least first name, last name, DOB, gender, UPN, reg group, date of admission. This will automatically move your existing students to their new classes and add any new students to the system.
NB When doing an import, it is best to make sure that the students who are already in My B Squared have a UPN attached to them so that the import can match on it. Otherwise it uses first name, last name and DOB as a combination which can differ between our system and your MIS, resulting in duplicate students being added.


  • Log into https://uk.connectingsteps.com. Go to System Administration>Move Students and use the GANTT chart to add students to their new class for the next academic year.

NB If you have new classes that need adding, go to https://uk.bsquared.cloudclick Manage Groups and add the new groups there first.


  •  Log into https://uk.bsquared.cloud. Go to Manage Students, edit each student and set their new registration group for the year.
