What is Non-Linear Progress?
Non-Linear Progress is the progress a pupil has made across multiple levels, not just on their current level. Non-linear progress includes the progress on their current level and any progress on the levels above the current level.
Pupils with autism, complex needs or a specific area of difficulty often have spikey profiles, meaning they will work across multiple levels. Our non-linear reports helps show all of their progress, not just the progress on their current level. A pupil may plateau on a level due to struggling with specific skills, but could be making progress on the level above. Its important to celebrate the progress being made with pupils and parents, even though it isn’t on the current level.
