Student Progress Trends Report

This report gives predictions on future attainment for a student across a number of subjects, for up to 2 years. The predictions are based entirely on the individual student's prior data in each area. To run this report you need to choose 3 dates, the first 2 dates are used to base the prediction on (for school trend) and then choose the date you want the prediction for. This report will use the data between the first 2 dates and the students lifetime progress to give 2 predicted trends for each pupil.

  1. School Trend - This trend is based on the students current progress. It uses the assessment data added by the school in Connecting Steps between the first 2 dates selected.
  2. Lifetime Trend - This trend is based on the students rate of progress across their entire lifetime. It uses their age to calculate their starting point (birth) and their attainment point on the 1st date used in the report. It uses this to show the students likely attainment if they continued on this trend.

There are 2 views:

  • Line Chart – shows the progress for each student and then shows a prediction based on their progress between the 2 dates and a lifetime progress prediction. The dashed line is the school trend. The dotted line is their lifetime trend.
  • Student Data – shows the attainment for the first 2 dates and the predicted attainment for each prediction. This view also includes a Value Added column for each row. This shows the different between the two trend lines on the third date. If this is positive, the student has made additional progress in this setting between the first 2 dates, compared to their lifetime trend.
